OUR project

So, last week, the work on the cabinet project slowed way down. In fact, I haven't touched it since last Wednesday. Tonight, I forced myself to get back on it and pulled Chris right along, secretly (it's not a secret at all) knowing that I can't do this without him.

Our work method tonight totally reminded me of the one time that my dad allowed me to mow the lawn growing up. He first did two laps around the yard with the riding mower to set a good pattern to follow. Then I rode it until I reached the middle. My dad then took the mower back to do his cross mowing and clean up what I may have missed....yes, that's exactly how the priming went tonight. Painting is not my strong point...and in many ways, I hate it. Kind of strange that I was so determined to take on this project?! :) I'm learning a lot though, and honestly, I'm facing one of my fears and hopefully improving the look of our kitchen, the place we spend much of our time.

The cabinets will not be done this month. I will, however, try to work harder and keep up a better pace.

Thank you, Chris. I'm so glad I have you to do this with me. We will be done...one day.

Along with Girls Camp and a LATE night drive back, these are a couple things we decided to do this weekend instead of painting:

(Yes, there are 2 misspelled words. Benefit of playing against a distracted husband!)

Again, Happy Father's Day, Chris! We celebrated the best way we know how...with food. Cinnamon rolls for breakfast, loaded paninis for lunch, and a steak and chicken bbq with friends for dinner. Chris got a new tool box and a t-shirt for being such a great dad!

I love the yard, I'm so jealous of all the camping going on, I want to see the cabinets and know what color you're painting them, and I have heard Thomas is giving kisses now and I want one of those asap. Wish you were coming this weekend for the reunion!
