Day 5
Horseback Riding in El Yunke. It was just us and our tour guide, Joshua. He had longer eye lashes than any human I've ever met. Two hours or so through the rain forest. Joshua taught us about various plants and things and showed us "magic tricks". We had a good discussion about life and the Gospel.
Chris decided to take us up the coast to San Juan instead of taking the freeway. This area was not touristy. We saw many Puerto Ricans enjoying their weekend on the beach with family and friends.
We checked into the hip little apartment we rented in San Juan and then explored the city a bit- via car. Concluded the evening with dessert at Kasalta.

Day 6
Church – getting there was a crazy mess. Finally pulled up and the building gate was closed. Stake Conference! So, on to Old San Juan we went! Parking took some time. At first we thought, wow! Puerto Ricans LOVE dogs!! Then we discovered a huge dog fair was going on. :) We explored the old forts (Castello del Morro and Cristobal Fortress) and ate lunch at Cafecultura. I ate fried plantains at every possible chance. We concluded A LOT of walking by walking some more in some shops and drinking the best Pina Coladas ever made
We then checked out the local beach at Ocean Park. It was CROWDED with Puerto Ricans. They know how to party together on Sunday afternoon, it seems. Chris and I just relaxed and sat on the beach...all while families and friends swam, ran, danced, and drank around us. It was kinda funny.
We concluded the night with a late dinner at Mango's- Churrasco! Plantain + pulled pork. Yum! Went on a walk and ended up at Frozen Yogurt and tried to plan our last day.
