This post will be rather exciting if you are looking for some good book recommendations. Maybe I'm kind of bragging about all the books I have had the time to read these last 3 or 4 months since I finished my scholarly pursuits....regardless, I have LOVED pretty much all of these books for very different reasons. The list follows:
1. The Continuous Atonement
2. P.P. Pratt Autobiography
3. Persuasion
4. Chasing Fireflies
5. Motzarts' Sister
6. Three Cups of Tea
7. The Glass Castle
8. Gathering Blue
9. Messenger
10. A Summer to Die
11. The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society
12. the curious incident of the dog in the night-time
13. Eat, Pray, Love
14. East of Eden (actually listened to this on tape with Chris over Christmas break...it took 25 hours to finish...great for our many long drives and a couple cozy evenings)
Now, I would love to give you a run-down of each book and why you should read, but really, nearly all of these happened upon me by chance or recommendation. I jumped into them, usually, without looking back. So, if a title sparks your interest, go for it! It has rarely let me down to do so.
Next...Cleaning House!
Something else changed my life just a bit last week.I attended a Relief Society Activity (isn't that what we're supposed to call enrichment now?) that I was so luckily invited to by my sister Angie in her ward. Keep your pants on! I know this is sounding exciting already!! We enjoyed a seminar of sorts on de-cluttering our homes and lives. The ideas from the evening can be found at www.declutteryourhomes.blogspot.com
Folks, I came home and tore it up! I ravaged closets, cabinets, STACKS of books (which we have begun to sell some and make a nice little profit, yay!), and devoured our "cat room" (supposed to be spare room, but it is covered in orange shag and reminds me of a cat toy), and while Chris hated me for a couple hours, I even got him involved and helped him decrease his storage of 4 boxes down to 2 more orderly boxes.
That's all for now. Have a good day!
