(Chris, since you do not like fuzzy phone pictures, you may not want to look at this post. Love, Nicole).
Thomas turned 9 months old on April 18. At his doctors appointment, he weighed 17 lbs 9 oz. 20th percentile. Dr. Marc asked that I feed him fattier foods and come back in a month. Thomas has loved exploring the new foods, especially the finger foods: lunch meats, avocados, breads, cheese, pastas, etc. Bananas are still his favorite. I attribute the slow weight gain to his constant activity and his short attention span for nursing lately. Dr. M wasn't concerned about that, only that we fatten him up. :)
We've been doing some baby sitting exchanges with our friends, the Foulgers. It was great for Chris and I to FINALLY go to the temple together. Thanks Foulgers.
T and A watching me pick weeds. Fun fun!
For about 2 weeks Thomas went through a "hands-up" phase. I have so many pictures of him on my phone looking like this. He would just do it over and over again all day long. Funny how babies transition through these little "fads" so quickly.
Chris traveled to Baltimore for work again last week. Thomas became my right hand man. (He's always my little right hand man). One night we had a crazy thunderstorm, and Thomas asked to join me in my bed for a little while. He laid himself on my lap and fell asleep. I loved it.
Missing Dad, but having fun.
I've been re-organizing ALL of our cupboards lately. Thomas is a great motivator! Should have baby-proofed already...we'll get on that some time.
Thomas is just starting to understand commands and selectively obeys. He frequently crawls toward the fireplace, looks back at us as if to say, "Look where I'm headed!" and starts to climb up on the brick. We'll tell him "no" or "come over here, Thomas". He usually listens and climbs back down. When it comes to cupboards, nothing can stop him. :)
Seeing new sights
Getting around!
Just before nap time this morning, Thomas helped me utilize a little extra flour.
Being sufficiently worn out before hitttin' the hay! And maybe a little irritated at the flour in his eye.
Finally, it's nap time!! Love my messy, curious, busy boy!
