Spring Vacation & Easter

Last week we had another incredible Young family vacation. We spent the first half of the trip in Newport and the second in Palm Springs. I just don't think I'll ever get sick of visiting California. I love that the sun and palm trees are close enough to visit, but far enough that it's still a special vacation. We (Chris) took lots of great pictures. 50 of which are on facebook, so I'm just throwing a few on here to document some high lights. They are in no particular order.
I LOVE the Marriott resort in Palm Springs! I'm grateful I have a baby that needs to get out so I could go on numerous walks just checking out the flowers, fountains, and flamingos (no alliteration intended), and soaking it the warm weather.
My family grew up going to Palm Springs/Palm Desert at least once a year. We ALWAYS made sure to stop for a date shake at Shields. I pestered Chris to take me there all week. Our last night we arrived at 5:15pm. It had closed at 5:00. Our little hearts were broken. Luckily, we ate Jayme's delicious shortcake and fresh fruit later that night to make up for it.
In all my years of traveling to Palm Springs, we'd never taken the tram. Mark, Judy, and Jess watched the babies, and the rest of us headed up the mountain. The lift rotated in a circle as it went up so you didn't miss out on any view. It was awesome and interesting to see desert mountains since we're used to the green kind. There were trees just below the ride and everything else was pretty much brown.
Monday was Disney Land day! Thomas had a permanent, but maybe apprehensive, smile the entire day! The rides and parade did spook him a bit, but all in all, it was a success. We moved a lot slower with Thomas and he slept in my arms for all of "It's a Small World".
This may sound dorky, but my favorite ride was the swings. Chris and I flew onto the platform to get two swings next to each other. Some teenage girl suddenly did a 360 and ran right in front of Chris. He totally and accidentally pummeled her to the ground. Everyone was okay. She jumped up to find a swing and we went on our way, but I laughed to tears for the duration of the ride. Somehow seeing people fall down is just so funny! Right? Or is it just me???...
Do I look like someone punched me in the face in some of these pictures? It was Thomas. Since our trip to Idaho and especially on this vacation, he has been a terrible sleeper. That's 3 weeks. I'm feeling it and looking it. Oh well, we carry on! It's not so bad when you've got fun things to do to distract you from your exhaustion.
Mark & Judy again making an incredible trip possible for a bunch of bratty kids. ;)
Aunt Jayme made sure to get "1st Visit" pins for her favorite nephews. Miles and Thomas were very proud!
Just having a good time with Disney!
We spent the first hour or so at Disney Land in Club 33 eating lunch. Best lunch ever. A friend of a friend of my father-in-law made it possible for us to get in. If you don't know what it is, look it up, and then get to know somebody who will get you in. Amazing!

EASTER!
We came home to Colorado to my parents, sister, and her kids already here and playing in our house. Mom and Dad had brought a small uhaul of things for us and Michele from Grandpa Rex. Sunday we made a delicious Easter feast after church. It was a beautiful day! We danced and went on walks and ate ourselves silly.
My sister Michele will likely be moving out here with her kids this summer. I hardly see them, so it was such a fun weekend to get to know their little personalities again and get excited to see them all the time! They are Thomas' greatest fan club! Especially Sawyer!!! I think T was a little confused by the intense amount of love he was receiving! :) Michele was given a special rock in an Easter egg from a special someone. We are thrilled!
Tom and Saw
We lined up for a quick photo shoot on the lawn before my mom and dad hit the road for Idaho. You'll never guess how many behinds were pinched in this photo. Cute...just real cute.

We couldn't have started the month of April on a better note! Family is the best!!

I have never been to Palm Springs! Looks so fun. And family really is the best. Love the bum pinching picture and congrats to Michele! Your dad told us that might be happening when we saw him at the office over my dad's birthday.

So BJ and I went to Palm Springs on our honeymoon... In freaking July. Bad idea. But hey, that's what you get when your aunt gives you a free time share and a little old run down place is the only place to go! But we didn't get to take the tram. We didn't have a car :( We took the bus to the stop marked "tram" and it dropped us off at the visitors center and neither one of us was brave enough to try hitch hiking. We will make it there sometime, I guess.
