Among these great women, I met Kelly Lamb. From the get-go Kelly always made me feel like a friend even though she was more than 20 years my senior. The day I was sustained in sacrament meeting, she was sitting behind me. When I sat down she tapped me on the shoulder and excitedly told me how much she looked forward to working with me. Wednesday night last week, Kelly suffered an unexpected stroke. She passed away just this last Wednesday, May 18th. She had a great impact on many lives, including my own. She is missed.
I could recount many stories about the great person that Kelly was even from just the few months that I knew her. I'll just share one of the last opportunities I had to spend time with her. Two nights before her stroke, we had a Relief Society activity on gardening in her back yard. I arrived a little late after work. Kelly took time out from the rest of the group with me so I could have a personal tour of her garden and yard (which was beautiful). When I had to leave, she said good-bye and squeezed my hand like an old friend. It was just a small and simple thing, but significant to me. I will never forget Kelly.
I'm grateful for Kelly's life and example. She did so much for other people. She was a wonderful and Christ-like person who made me want to be better and do more. Her love for God and the gospel is a legacy that I'll cherish. Thank you, Kelly, for making my life better for having known you.

Well said, Nicole. I think Kelly had a wonderful gift to make all around her feel loved and appreciated. This has been shocking and so, so hard. I hope you're doing ok.
Wasn't she the greatest?! I just keep thinking how blessed we were to be able to work with her so closely, and glean bits of her wisdom. I think Monday will be tough, but so great to share and hear stories of her great life. Love you!
I'm looking forward to Monday too and hearing more about her life. Thanks ladies for your comments!I'm sure glad I have both of you as friends.
That is so sad, she is way to young. It sounds like she lived a wonderful life though.
What a wonderful person. I am sure that she is in a place where she fits in very nicely.
Nicole, hate to change the subject but I need a belly shot please.
