Forever Young

Being squishy and cute and young

I have a situation. I'm not sure that it's a problem...but it can get a little overwhelming at times. I look YOUNG. Last week was my first week at the salon (it's been great so far). In that time, I received 6 comments such as the following:

Do you go to Arapahoe (local high school)?

You graduated from college?? You look Young!

How old are you? Oh, I would have said you're younger...

When I was a sophomore in high school (7 years ago!), my mentor and cheer adviser gave me some hope. "Once your face thins out and you grow some boobs, he'll come to his senses." (referring to my senior crush). Well Stero, I'm waiting! Should I just give it more time?

The situation grew infinitely when I changed my last name 2 years ago. EVERY SINGLE DAY that I subbed in a new classroom these past few months, this joke didn't get old..."Your name will be easy to remember. You're Mrs. Young and you look young!" Usually followed by about 30 contorted, laughing faces.

I don't really know why I'm blogging about this. Maybe now, YOU'LL never forget my last name. My boss did give me a real stylin' hair cut and color yesterday (for free, might I add). Maybe it will make me look a little less YOUNG.

Um...wait until you get pregnant and your fingers get too fat for your wedding ring so everyone automatically assumes you are a knocked-up teenager. Its really fun. That has been my life the past 9 months. I want to see pictures of your new hair. I bet it is adorable!

Darc, glad I have a friend who can relate! ha ha

Also, disclaimer: I'm not still chasing after my senior crush. I eventually did give up. :)

Hahaha, sorry, I wish I didn't laugh at your post, but I think it's cute. I never thought about it, maybe cause I always looked up to you so much. You were, afterall, the mother of the apartment in some ways :)
